All students are required to submit their choice of specializations which they will subsequently follow by the end of the 5th semester of their studies. Each student, before is accepted in a specialization programme of his/her choice, has to successfully pass certain specified courses from the first general agricultural education section of the programme, which are proposed by each specialization as prerequisites. Evaluation of course performance is carried out either by a written or an oral examination, or with any other means adopted by the instructor(s) of each course (e.g. project, assignments and presentations).

The programme of studies of the School of Agriculture aims i) to provide comprehensive agricultural education, covering the entire production chain, from the primary sector to the processing and distribution of agricultural products and agri-food, ii) to establish a strong scientific background in basic and applied agricultural science, iii) to develop analytical and synthetic thinking, problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions, iv) to develop digital and innovation skills, with an emphasis on precision agriculture, information systems and modern decision-support tools, v) to educate students capable of responding to the challenges of climate change, food security, environmental protection and sustainable development, vi) to provide specialized knowledge through the five (5) Specializations-Study Areas, in a way that ensures a common strong agricultural background and clear professional profile of the graduate, vii ) in preparing graduates for the exercise of the foreseen professional rights of the Agriculturist, as well as for the continuation of studies in second and third cycle programs.
