Research at the School of Agriculture is theoretical, basic experimental, applied, and developmental in nature. It aims either at addressing questions of purely theoretical interest or practical problems requiring experimental investigation, at developing methods, products, or public goods, or at providing advisory services.
Research contributes to the enhancement of the educational process and the reform of the curriculum in line with modernization trends and international developments in the agricultural sciences. It also supports the effective utilization of human resources, the training of new specialized scientists, and the improvement of the School’s laboratory infrastructure through research programme funding.
Research at the School of Agriculture, both applied and basic, has shown significant improvement over the past two decades in terms of funding and number of publications. According to statistical data from the AUTH Research Committee for the period 2009–2013, the School of Agriculture ranks 4th among 42 schools of our university in research programme funding, as shown in the diagram.
